Tina Thompson

Tina Thompson

Head Coach

One of the most decorated players in women's basketball history, and the newest head coach of UVA women's basketball. She spent two seasons at Texas as an assistant coach, and one as Associate Head Coach. Thompson's playing career includes retiring as the all-time leading scorer in WNBA history, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a four-time WNBA champion (Houston Comets) and being the first player drafted in the history of the WNBA in 1997. She's also an alum of the University of Southern California where she finished her collegiate career with 2,248 points.

La'Keshia Frett Meredith

La'Keshia Frett Meredith

Assistant Coach

La'Keisha Frett Meredith joined the coaching staff in July of 2013. The former All-American and four-time All-SEC honoree at Georgia works primarily with the Cavalier post players. As a player, Frett Meredith enjoyed remarkable success at the prep, collegiate and professional levels. She earned 1993 National Prep Player of the Year honors and then helped lead Georgia to back-to-back Final Four appearances and consecutive SEC titles. Within the professional ranks, her teams advanced to the WNBA playoffs in six of her seven seasons in the league.

Katherine Graham

Katherine Graham

Assistant Coach

Katherine Graham joined the Virginia coaching staff in June of 2016. She previously served as an assistant coach at Lipscomb during the 2014-15 season before spending last year as in the same position at Western Kentucky. Graham was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter at LSU, reaching the Final Four in 2008. Graham was named to the SEC Coaches All-Defensive Team her senior season. Following her collegiate playing career, she spent one season playing professional basketball in Iceland before heading to Georgia, where she spent two seasons as a graduate assistant.

Assistant Coach

Tim Taylor joined Virginia's staff for a second time in June of 2016. He worked on Debbie Ryan's staff from 2000-05, serving as the recruiting coordinator, returning in 2009 as the associate head coach. Taylor was recognized as one of the top assistant coaches in the country, helping the Cavaliers make five NCAA tournament appearances and signing back-to-back top-15 recruiting classes. Taylor also coached Monica Wright during the 2010 season when she was named the ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while also garnering AP and State Farm All-America honors.
